We do everything possible to make sure that you get an engine in your GMC that is every bit as good as brand new (in most cases, better than new).

We feel that one of the strong points of the GMC Motorhome has always been the 455 (403) engine. Over the years we have seen that most GMC engines go trouble-free for much more 100,000 miles. Even at 100k most engines may only need a new water pump, timing chain, or possibly a valve job. We will do several tests to determine just what your GMC engine may need. In many cases, the problem is much simpler and cheaper to fix than the replacement of the complete engine would be.

If it is determined that you need a complete engine rebuild, we can do the job, usually within a few days! When Alex builds you a new engine, it is either done with your original block or with one that we have already professionally prepared. Then we normally install new pistons, a camshaft, lifters, a timing chain, a crankshaft, rings, bearings, an oil pump, a fuel pump, a water pump, brass freeze plugs, seals, and gaskets. The manufactured heads will have new valves, guides, springs, seats, keepers, and whatever else they may need. The engine blocks usually will be bored to .030 over. This is done to make sure that the new pistons and rings are a perfect fit.

All of our critical engine parts are re-milled, magnafluxed, and tested to insure that you get the best possible engine that we can build. We only use brand-name parts and gaskets. Our goal is to build you the best engine possible at the fairest price. We will be glad to talk to anyone that has an engine-related problem or question.
