Insulation

One of the on-going concerns many GMC owners have is with insulation.  We feel that on some GMC's the comfort of the front cab area is very poor. Road noise and engine sound is often so high there is no need for a radio or a CD player. In addition the dash AC/Heat is not adequate, or if it is it doesn't last for more than a few fleeting moments!  To remedy this we offer to insulate under the complete front cab area.

   Step 1
We seal any and all air holes in the floor, the firewall and the slide walls to the sub floor.

(A lot of air gets through even the smallest hole when you are pushing it at 60+  mph.)

 Step 2
We apply a complete blanket of high density fire resistant insulation to the underside of the whole engine compartment, including the engine hatch cover.  We extend the insulation down behind the transmission, under the forward step and down the horizontal area to the main floor.

Step 3
We seal all the seams with an industrial grade foil tape.

(This helps improve the effectiveness of the job as well as seal out any water that may splash up on the foil faced insulation material.)

Step 4
To finish the job we add a new foam rubber seal strip around the engine hatch lip.

(This will make the hatch almost air tight when the latches are screwed down tight.)

Approximate price is $485.00

This complete process takes about 6 hours and uses about  80 SQ ft. of Themosite insulation material.
